Physical endeavours, week 1

My twin 101-in-1001 projects (Air Alert 3 and hand walking) have now been running for a week and it is time for the first report. These endeavours are fairly different in that Air Alert 3 is a fully developed training programme, whereas my hand walking is more or less improvised. Now over to some thoughts on the first week.

Air Alert proscribes exercising three times each week, although the specific days vary from week to week. The first week is fairly easy compared to the subsequent, or so I thought. After the first session I was pretty exhausted, as was the case after the second. After the third, however, I did not feel as tired. It is possible that the first week is the hardest one, with a possible exception of the last week. At the moment, my calves are hurting pretty badly, but otherwise I am fine. My best out of five Sargen Jumps today measured 49 centimetres, which is exactly the same height as last week. I thought it should have been worse because of tired muscles, but obviously I was wrong.

Changing subject to hand walking, I will have to restructure my aforementioned schedule somewhat, removing everything but two things: static endurance training and hand walking. Neither the warm-up exercise nor the other ones turned out satisfactory. The roll-downs seem a bit pointless and the attempts at standing still are terribly hard to measure. I have managed to walk a total of 250 metres though, and that distance will have to be increased drastically later on since it was much easier than I thought. However, I will keep 250 metres as a goal for next week, just to allow my body to adjust itself to the situation.

I do not really think that next week will be vastly different from this one, since there is only a slight increase in the Air Alert and no increase for the hand walking. This week, Air Alert was done Monday-Wednesday-Friday, and next week it will be Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday, but since there is no great increase in the number of sets or repetitions, I think I will be alright.

Summary first week:

Accomplished Air Alert 3, week 1
Sargent Jump: 49 centimetres
Walked 250 (20 max) metres on my hands
Stood 3x3x1 minutes on my hands, one minute pause

Har någon någonsin sagt till dig att du är galen, förryckt och vansinnig? För det är du. Vad är det för fel att använda fötterna som vanligt folk? Pfff.

Ja, Yassilus brukar säga det med jämna mellanrum.
