Physical endeavours, week 4

My twin 101-in-1001 projects (Air Alert 3 and hand walking) have now been running for four weeks and it is time for the fourth report (see report 1, 2, 3). These endeavours are fairly different in that Air Alert 3 is a fully developed training programme, whereas my hand walking is more or less improvised (the goal being to walk 100 metres). Now over some thoughts on the fourth week.

Recognising that strength is the main obstacle on the way towards walking a hundred meters on my hands, I have tried to cover as great a distance as possible and arrived at 666 metres (yes, really) in all. This should be compared with last week’s 200 metres and 400 metres the week before that. I rounded of with an attempt at walking 100 metres in as few attempts as possible, with one minute rest in between each stretch. I have now an inkling of what walking a hundred metres is about, and it is not easy, let me tell you. Anyway, I managed in 10 tries with 6 metres extra on the final stretch.

I have now completed Air Alert week 3, which means that I am one week behind schedule. I have previously mentioned that my right calf hurt, but I am happy to tell you that the pain has subsided and is now almost gone. There is yet no Sargent Jump for this week, but I will update this post tomorrow when I have one (it does not feel very important at this stage, to be honest).

Accomplished Air Alert 3, week 3
Sargent Jump: 49 centimetres
Walked 666 metres (27 max) on my hands
Walked 106 metres in 10 attempts with 1 minute rest
