Flight booked

Before today, my going to Taiwan was only a possibility, albeit a highly likely one. However, earlier today I booked a flight from Stockholm to Taiwan on 2nd September 2008. My courses start on 15th September, and having roughly two weeks free in Taiwan before that seems like a good idea. So now this adventure is one big step closer towards being real. I now have set date on which I will leave, something to focus on. I have not booked a ticket home, since I have no idea when or whence I will leave Asia (there is a possibility that I might want to visit China next summer, but that is just pure speculation at the moment).

I am still checking residential possibilities, but it seems like there are two alternatives, either dormitory on the campus or off-campus living. Since the second one is very close to the university and costs almost nothing (about half of what I pay here in Sweden), I think I will avoid the dormitory if I can, even if it is cheap Having a place of my own seems of paramount importance, and I do not hesitate to pay a little extra for it. Every snail needs its shell, so to speak. Furthermore, I can always change my mind once I get there, but I need somewhere to start.
